Pilau Ingredients
1 kilo rice |
1 kilo meat or chicken |
1/2 kilo onions |
1/2 kilo potatoes |
1 small garlic |
1 small ginger |
salt as required |
oil |
chicken stock or 1 cube of maggie |
mixed spices about 2 handful |
1/2 lemon |
Cooking
- Wash the rice and soak it with water
- Cut onion into slices sticks
- Peel potatoes and cut into small pieces
- Skin the garlic and ginger
- Put ginger garlic and a portion of sliced onion and blend them together
- Boil meat or chicken(do not throw the stock
- Now heat the oil and fry the sliced onions until golden brown add the blended garlic and spices
- Let it fry for a bit
- Add the chicken stock about 4 cups and bring to boil
- Drain water from the rice and add chicken onions and stock mixture, and bring it to boil
- Add chicken, onions, and the stock mixture, salt, and lemon juice
- Then reduce heat to let it simmer until tender cooked
