Assalaamu Alaikum

It is a great pleasure today meeting here to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the holy prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H)

I would like first of all to welcome you all on behalf of the Waswahili Community Trust in this great occasion of Meela-un-Nabi. As you probably know that it is the first time our organisation has been able to organise this very important event. And we are very pleased indeed to see that this celebration is very well attended. Having said that I also feel very sad to see that this celebration is taking place in a rented hall, as you are aware that we are as yet to have our own community centre.

Therefore, it is about time that we should all work very hard to fulfil this great dream of establishing our community centre in London for our organisation. Also, the trustees of this organisation need your continuous support our great dream can come true one day. In the meanwhile, we must not despair, and with the help of Allah, Inshallah, we are going to succeed.

I would like to inform you that the main objectives of this organisation are as folows:

Now it is very important for all of us to set a good example for our children to follow. And this, hopefully will enable our children to grow up with the spirit of the community awareness, and a good sense of social responsibility, and above all, to become aware of their religious obligation, and respecting our cultural heritage.

As I have mentioned earlier on that providing community services can only be done properly, if we have proper facilities to allow the delivery of those services. For example, this particular hall we are meeting today is not big enough to accommodate all members from our community.

Additionally, we are not allowed to Therefore, we are not allowed to exceed the maximum capacity of 200 people. There are not enough facilities for babies and neither adequate space for children. Our organisation is working very hard to some funding from the London Borough of Newham to establish our own centre in London. We also would like to hear from anyone who could assist in this repect.

As we all know that there is a great demand for us to provide community services, such as the teaching of the mother-tongue, providing recreational activities, organising relious and cultural events, and most imprtantly planning for the funeral care.

We are organising fundraising, and there are some community members who are making monthly contribution. But, this is not enough, as we need more fundraising, and some help from the funding organisation, if we are going to achieve our aim. There we need greater sacrice, in the way of making monthly donation, as we all know where there is a will there is a way.

This is to say that we appeal for your kind support, and please give generously, and may Alla blessed you, and Inshalla we shall eventually see the great benefit of making such contribution.

When we have our own community centre, then we will be able to organise our organisational activities in our own centre. We have collected some funds to be used for this particular project. Some of you are already making monhtly contribution. We would also, like to make an appeal to others who are not doing so to come forward to do so. At the same time I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the organisation to thank all those who are making such contribution

I would like to thank those who are actively organising fundraising. More particularly, those who have worked so hard to make this important event so successful. Thank you (Shukran) for all your sacrtifice and hard work. And God willing (Inshalla) we are going to be successful to oour aims and objectives.

We appeal for your donation for our charity
